Dreaming Big in Cuba: A Look Back at an Unforgettable Adventure from Baltimore (Hampden)

SO much has been running through my mind lately. It’s been a long time—too long—since I’ve sat down to write a blog post. Life has been busy in the best possible ways, but after our most recent trip to Cuba, I feel a deep pull to reflect and share.

This trip was something different. It wasn’t just successful—it was transformative. We are still processing the energy and the potential it unlocked, both for us and for the future.

That being said, anything involving Cuba is never simple. Juan Carlos, my incredible partner and our head guide, always reminds our travelers: “This is Cuba.” Things rarely go exactly as planned. But that’s exactly where the magic happens—where the improvisations, the surprises, and the beautiful, messy moments create something that could never exist anywhere else in the world.

It is our hope that the magic and connection we experienced on this trip continue to grow and transform into even more adventures, deeper friendships, greater creativity, and powerful exploration. As human beings, we are all yearning for meaningful connection—and through Vidita Travel, we get to build those bridges every day. We pour our hearts and souls into making it happen.

The Magic We Made

One of the highlights of this journey was an unforgettable photoshoot. It was electrifying to work with talented Cuban models, classic cars, stunning art, and the vibrant streets of Havana as our backdrop. At the helm was the award-winning documentary filmmaker and portrait photographer, Michael Ivan Schwartz. His eye for authenticity and beauty led us through the experience, making every shot, every moment, feel effortless and extraordinary.

We were also lucky to be joined by Lindsay Hall from Flaunt Salon. Lindsay’s spirit was contagious—her carefree attitude and excitement lit up every room (and every convertible!). Watching her ride through Havana, the wind in her hair, beaming with pure joy, reminded us why we do what we do.

Linda Blackbourn, a creative force and visionary jewelry designer, was another shining light. Linda brought endless enthusiasm and a million ideas to the table. Watching the models showcase her stunning pieces, crafted with such intention and beauty, was a true privilege. Linda’s desire to give back to the women of Cuba touched us deeply. We can’t wait to see all the incredible ways her vision will take shape in the future.

None of this would have been possible without the trust and vision of Susannah Siger, owner of Ma Petite Shoe. Susannah has been both a dear friend and I have been her loyal client for over 20 years. She took a chance on us when she traveled with Vidita Travel last year, and her belief in what we are building has never wavered. This trip—this idea—was her brainchild. We simply listened, honored her vision, and made it happen.

The partnership we have with Susannah is something truly special: built on trust, creativity, and a shared commitment to bringing dreams to life. Her encouragement pushes us to see beyond our limits and imagine even bigger possibilities. We are endlessly grateful for her.
