December flew by in the blink of an eye, and it feels like I haven\u2019t fully absorbed everything Juan Carlos (JC) and I have accomplished. We&#8217;ve grown in so many ways\u2014meeting incredible people, collaborating with fantastic partners, and continually learning not just about travel, but about ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JC and I have poured our hearts into making Vidita Travel the best it can be. This past year, we took videography and business courses, read books, connected with other travel professionals, and\u2014most importantly\u2014deepened our knowledge of Cuban culture, history, art, and food. As Cubans, this connection to our roots is profoundly personal, yet there is always more to discover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One recurring theme throughout our learning journey has been the importance of sharing who we are and why we care so deeply about what we do. As the daughter of Cuban immigrants, organizing this trip was more than just another assignment\u2014it was deeply personal. Over the years, I\u2019ve planned countless student trips, believing that the best way to learn is to live the experience. But this trip was different. It was about taking my students to my family\u2019s homeland and helping them see Cuba through my eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planning a trip to Cuba is never simple. There are countless moving parts, and it takes a deep understanding of the country\u2019s unique rhythm to bring everything together seamlessly. That\u2019s where JC came in. His planning process wasn\u2019t just about logistics; it was about vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-4fc3f8e1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We asked ourselves:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i>\n<ul><li style=\"margin-left: 30px\">What do these students need to gain from this trip?<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 30px\">How can we help them grow through this experience?<\/li><\/ul><\/i>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, we imagined ourselves in their shoes\u2014over 60 students, aged 16\u201318, and 10 adults, each with their own expectations and needs. We crafted an itinerary that blended learning with immersion, ensuring that every experience left a lasting impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Power of Connection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That trip was life-changing\u2014not just for the students, but for us as well. The students danced with locals, tasted flavors they\u2019d never imagined, and explored a world so different from their own. They returned home with a newfound appreciation for life\u2019s simplest joys, realizing that happiness isn\u2019t tied to material things but to meaningful connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Watching their transformation was magic.
